Mercedes GL Class: A Review

Mercedes Benz launched Mercedes GL Class, a luxury sports utility vehicle, in March 2010. Mercedes Benz had reflected its style, high standards and outstanding engineering in this car. They had offered latest innovated engine and comforts of all kind to their customers, in this car manufactured in their Tuscaloosa, Alabama plant. This biggest SUV car of Mercedes has plenty of cargo space alongwith three rows of seating.

Mercedes Benz is offering three models of GL Class as GL350 Bluetec, GL450 and the top model GL550. Though these models are identical in look but their engines have many variations. GL350 has a diesel engine, GL450 has a gas powered engine V8 whereas GL550 has powerful engine V8 with well defined front grille along with other features.

Mercedes GL Class is provided with 3L GL 350 CDI engine with the features of Blue Efficiency to provide best on road performance on roads of all kind with the engine power of 224 BHP at 3800 rpm, torque of 510 Nm at 1600 to 288 rpm and automatic gear box of 7-G-Tronic. The technology of BlueEfficiency ensures the low emission and high fuel efficiency of the valued car. Its adjustive damping system and airmatic air suspension ensures its superb off road capability due to its adjustability according to road conditions.

The enormous size of car of 5099 * 1920 * 1840 mm ensures comfortable seating for 7 persons and a large cargo area within and capability to tow away various accessories of lifestyle effortlessly. Alongwith other facilities heated and powered front seats, power holding third row seat, hard drive based navigation system and automatic climate control by dual-zone are some of the additional comforts provided in this car as compared to others in this class.

The interiors of Mercedes GL Class are decorated with superior quality materials with chrome trim and comfortable seats with Neck-pro crash active feature. Its ergonomic seats provide full comfort to the user and the third seat is easily foldable. The instrument panel is enclosed in leather whereas its seats have excellent upholstery. The car has CD drive with Audio 20 music system with 8 speakers.

The car provide a mileage of 9 km/liter on highway whereas 6 km/liter in the city.
